If there's no Reform candidate where I live then I won't vote, I sure as hell will never vote Tory again even to keep Labour out. Reform or nothing.

I am sure that Mr. Tice's qualifications and experience in economic affairs would be very valuable in government service. However, I am far more concerned about Reform's intentions over immigration policy. It seems to me that they have changed markedly in recent times, and for the worse.

Hi

This is an ex-engineer's opinion:

1. The national debt is about 3 trillion pounds.

2. The tax paying population is about 30 million.

3. Divide number 1 by number 2 and we get £100,000.

That's how much each individual tax payer is in debt.

4. The annual payment for debt servicing is currently £105Bn. How much is HS2? About £100Bn to date. Wow! That's like having an HS2 every year.

5. The governing party is not going to stop this and the can is going to continue to be kicked down the road - more spending, more taxation, more borrowing... until the lenders get fed up and tell us to stop.

True.

We know what the Bond markets will do early & cumulatively.

Cynical me thinks its too late for Reeves/Starmer even now, & they have cast the die.

Try to find safe havens for your £££ now if you can. Soon it will be too late.

Great interview - nice to see a bit of prodding rather than the usual back slapping which goes on. I know it’s a fine line as you need the guests to keep showing up but it’s refreshing to hear.

Tice’s economic literacy is middling, lacking any real thought of how a debt based system should be changed, or backed up with policies to put UK finances (and government) on a sustainable path.

A Bitcoin ‘sovereign wealth fund’ is not only utterly stupid based on the fundamentals of crypto, it’s also a sink of capital that should be used to bolster the UKs gold holdings, if we are to have any clout in the incoming financial paradigm of a post debt based, multipolar world.

Tice, like most of what constitutes Reform, is a moron, who lacks any real insight into the issues, therefore any credible formulations of viable solutions. He and they are the beneficiaries of public discontent.

Reform will fix nothing, but will have the privilege of ruling over the ashes of Labour. And that is the great tragedy of a party that lies and plays games instead of engaging seriously and bringing in people who know their subjects.

He should have stuck to real estate. The people of the UK would have ultimately thanked him.

Huge task. Huge.

Are they up to it?

Only voting for them will mean we find out.

As for the "old" parties - all of them have repeatedly failed, made things worse even, with no likelihood they can deliver what the UK needs.

If Reform win expect the fightback from the institutions, old media, & those with their dirty fingers in the pie. They'll even start pre GE with trying to destroy any Reform NHS policy . . .

Number 1, I don't think Richard Tices' CV is that impressive?. 2, when you talk about old parties, Tory, Labour and LibDems are just brand names.3, Reform is made up of tired old party defectors and some that thinks it's easy. That's how we have ended up with the dross that is now our government. That could mean that the Tories are virtually a new party. All parties rebrand themselves, so when you vote. Vote for the best candidate for you, not the party.
