It really is staggering that we have spent billions of pounds on accommodating illegal immigrant as well as legal ones who just suck off the teat of th state. Also as John said, the amount of money wasted on HS2, which will some foresight this money could have been used for so many useful things.
Really enlightening interview. John McGee’s story to date epitomises many great things that the UK used to have - education, enterprise and common sense. What a great idea to hear about AI from the front line rather than political platitudes. I sincerely hope there are enough John McGees to steer and influence government policy otherwise we will lose talented people as well as investment.
The value is in the data process and IP, not the postcode of the processor. For non-critical AI workloads, put data centres where power and planning work, and stop pretending every useful service must physically run in the UK to benefit the UK.
